My LCD is dying

My monitor, the lil’ 17 incher that could, seems to be on its last legs. I’ve had it for about two and a half years, and for the past year or so it has had the occasional flicker (like, maybe, once every week or two). However, in the last few days, the flickers have grown to happening every minute or two. It has become so bad that I finally had to unplug the poor thing and “borrow” my brother’s 23″ LCD (which has been gathering dust in my office for a while now). Alas, I know he’ll want this back sooner than later, at which point, I’m going to need to buy a new monitor.

I’ve been longing for a 23″ Apple display for years, especially since the new ones came out this year, but funds have always been to scarce to pull off the $2000 price tag.

Looks like I need to find myself some contract work… any takers?

  1. er…wanna write a privacy policy? what’s your hourly rate on that sort of thing? ::grinning::

  2. no, i haven’t, unfortunately. The closest Apple Store to Salt Lake City is in Las Vegas, and that one is a bit small (although I do visit the one at Fashion Valley in SD when I visit my sister).
I don’t know what I’d do with all that screen… or the nearly 4 grand debt to obtain one (with requisite video card).

(and writing legit privacy policies is pretty easy… just explain any personal data your site may take, or cookies, etc.)
