A little while ago, I posted some thoughts on the new CodeSeven album, Dancing Echoes / Dead Sounds. It would be an understatement to say that I like the album. Well, I promised a good review of it in my role at NowOnTour, but then something happened.
I’ve been listening to a copy of the album, waiting for my physical copy to arrive via NoT. I’d continually said I planned on reviewing it, but suddenly, I was informed that Mark (another reviewer, and a friend) had stolen the review right out from under me. Oh well, I figured, at least that’s one less review to do (I have a few other albums that I plan on reviewing soon). Unfortunately, that’s not the end of it.
Mark’s review was recently posted, and his view of the album was less than stellar. Even Tyler (who really enjoyed the album… enough to say it was a 10) was surprised to find Mark had slammed the album. Granted, a 3.5 out of 5 isn’t horrible, but it definitely isn’t close to what the album deserves.
Mark’s a great guy, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to hunt him down and sacrifice him to a graven image of Kenny Rogers. That’s not an easy thing… Mark could probably take me in a fight, and if he couldn’t, little Hamhock (his son) could.
Well, I won’t hold a grudge, but I will say that the review is rather harsh… go, buy the album. You can thank me later.
thanks for reminding me that i have a copy of this cd.
i browsed around on that website. it was interesting.
